When you go on vacation and you take a million photos and don't have the desire to process a million photos but would love to share some, where do you start?
I guess the best place to start would be the beginning.
The beginning of your vacation, that is.
A trip to Costa Rica has been on my bucket list for quite a while. Ever since my daughter visited the country..... TWICE!! Then followed by photos posted by Antonio G. on Photoblog, I've had that nagging desire to visit the country or at least part of the country and of course take a ton of photos.
Both desires were achieved successfully when we decided to take our annual "Christmas Vacation" last week. Our destination was the Guanacaste Providence in Costa Rica.
A little background before posting photos is required, in my opinion. 😉
Guanacaste a province of Costa Rica located in its northwestern area, along the coast of the Pacific Ocean; very rich in history, culture, folklore and a peculiar nature. It borders Nicaragua at N, with Alajuela province at E, Puntarenas Province at SE, and Pacific Ocean at W. The capital of Guanacaste is the city of Liberia, and the province has an area of 10,140.71 km2 (3,915.35 sq mi), and a population of 280,488 (the most sparsely populated in Costa Rica). The province is divided into 11 cantons and 59 districts.
The providence is named after the Guanacaste tree.
Guanacaste's climate and culture are unique among Costa Rican provinces. The province experiences little rain and consistent heat from November to April, resulting in ubiquitous tropical dry forests as a natural adaption to the dry season conditions. Tourists seek out this dry heat during the North American winter to enjoy the Guanacastecan beaches.
Therefor, you can imagine where we stopped first after our arrival.......
Total distance traveled ~ 2,263 miles (3641.945 Km)
Beautiful! I used to use (quite illegally, as with all my video taped nature programming back in the day) a wonderful program on the Guanacaste World Heritage Site and the incredible biodiversity that exists there. I saw an example of the in the video you posted - quite a number of rare and wild species in that!
ReplyDeleteI wish one could post videos here because sometimes photos don't relay the true story, at least not travel photos. Thanks for stopping in 😊
DeleteYou can post videos - at least in my theme you can.
ReplyDeleteOn mine it doesn't look like it can be uploaded. To be honest I don't want to create and recreate too much here. I really want a "decent" blog and this one is not one of them. One example...while I follow you and Gethin, the darn thing never emails me to state there is a new post. But low and behold it emails me to let me know that I have posted a new "blog". Well.....seeing I am the poster, I would think I would already know that I had posted.😁 As the saying goes...beggars can't be choosy :)
DeleteI realize now I was confusing Costa Rica with Belize, now I have seen your map I stand corrected. Didn't realise you were on the Pacific thought you were in the Caribbean. Looks idyllic.
ReplyDeleteGlad I posted the map then. Thanks to Google for tracking me (truth be known I am the one allowing them...I so want another one of their pressies. Last year it was a sock wonder what it will be this year). I do believe you would enjoy this resort.
