A Heron's Dream

When your GPS fails you and you end up at the zoo, you MUST worry. After all the animals and birds in this are are all caged and you could end up in a cage as well.

But for this heron, it was a dream come true.

We know there is no such thing as a free buffet, and yet this impressive sized but yet thin (5-6 pounds in weight) bird had found just the right free buffet.

The pond at the zoo crammed with  HUGE goldfish.

The Handsome Ones

One word to describe these......

HANDSOME!!

Bad Hair Day

Sadly, not the happiest looking guy and with one of the most peculiar windblown hairstyles I've seen, this little guy belongs to the Old World Monkeys group, as opposed to the New World Monkeys.

The difference?

Old World Monkeys have downward pointing nostrils and only two molars.

Slow Poke

This is not Lonesome George, who passed away in 2012, but rather a distant cousin of his who lives at the Henson Robinson Zoo.

While he is not the slowest animal (reptile) in the world.....(the three-toed sloth wins that category), he is one of the slowest. Tortoises move at a speed of less than one mile per hour.

Their unhurried life style is probably what enables them to live up to 200 years.

Black Beauties?

The official bird of  Western Australia with the longest neck as relative to its size, is the Black Swan.

And then there was this (beauty??)

Not Photogenic 😉

Someone doesn't like their photo taken.

Or maybe he is just complaining about his residence.
