When your GPS fails you and you end up at the zoo, you MUST worry. After all the animals and birds in this are are all caged and you could end up in a cage as well.
But for this heron, it was a dream come true.
We know there is no such thing as a free buffet, and yet this impressive sized but yet thin (5-6 pounds in weight) bird had found just the right free buffet.
The pond at the zoo crammed with HUGE goldfish.
These are amazing. Number 6 very special. The fish is spectacular. I presume it is not meant to be there. I can't see them feeding fish like that to a heron deliberately. In fact there is something surreal in seeing large Goldfish like this being eaten.
ReplyDeleteSurreal indeed! This was the best part of taking a trip to the zoo. Made my day. I did see him fly away, not sure if he will come back, but who knows if this is a regular activity of his.
DeleteExcellent captures! Oh, he'll be back - finding a honey hole like that will be remembered. I love #6, as well, but also #10, too. Both great "eye" shots.
ReplyDeleteThank you John. Definitely got lucky that day. Another addition to my vast "stamp collection". Although this stamp collection takes a lot more room than the origianl one 😉
DeleteStunning images, I agree with John, he'll be back. (I wonder if he'll tell his friends?)
ReplyDeleteThank you David. One was spotted at the local park (a twenty minute drive from the zoo to the park, opposite direction). We couldn't decide if it was the same one or not ( they all look alike 😉) But it would be nice if he had told a whole bunch of his friends that Springfield is the place to be. I love watching and capturing thes guys.
