This is not Lonesome George, who passed away in 2012, but rather a distant cousin of his who lives at the Henson Robinson Zoo.
While he is not the slowest animal (reptile) in the world.....(the three-toed sloth wins that category), he is one of the slowest. Tortoises move at a speed of less than one mile per hour.
Their unhurried life style is probably what enables them to live up to 200 years.
Only one mile an hour but, they have lots of time to get there. An hey, they are faster than hares (at least some of them), just ask Aesop!
ReplyDeleteNice images, Slow shutter? :-)
😂😂 Aesop had a good imagination. Not slow shutter, just slow tortoise 😉😉
DeleteUnhurried and lack of stress I imagine 😊
