Gears, Goggles and Heat

Hannibal, Missouri, sits along the Mississippi River approximately 100 miles north of St. Louis. The historic river town is best known as the boyhood home of Samuel Langhorne Clemens—better known to the world as Mark Twain—and the inspiration for many of the places and characters found in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Each Labor Day weekend, however, Hannibal travels into a different version of the past when the Big River Steampunk Festival takes over its historic downtown.
