One of the most visited touristic areas of Montreal is the the Old Port. It is a historic port as its use started as early as 1611, when the French fur traders used it as a trading post. It is located adjacent to Old Montreal and it stretches over 1.2 miles along the Saint Lawrence River.
After the move of the port's activities in 1976 to the present port; located in the borough of Mercier- Hochelagan- Masionneuve, the Old Port was redeveloped into a recreational and historic area drawing approximately six million tourists annually.
We chose to cruise along the Saint Lawrence River and take in the sights.
