Isn't it great that we both belong to the mutual admiration club 😉. Those leaves (found on a trail) were unique in that they were very stiff, almost plastic fake material. I brought them home and a week later they feel the same as day one except a bit discolored. Not sure what kind of plant they are, but definitely would work with my killer black thumb 😊
Those are river oats. I had some in Charlotte and they grew like crazy - the seed heads were beautiful and attracted gold finches. I could strip the ripe seeds off in fall and scatter them anywhere and they grew into a thick, lush ground cover. https://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=chla5
