Paint The Street

 The annual Springfield Art Association's fund raiser "Paint the Street" was last weekend.

The fundraiser involves closing down one of the downtown streets and painting a  6 ft x 6 ft squares. Each square registration received one paint supply bucket (including the tempera paint which is water soluble) one giveaway bag with goodies from sponsors, and one Paint the Street t-shirt. 

There were 244 entrants and I was asked to click their completed art work.

Leading Lines! Week 25

" Leading Lines are simply lines, real or perceived, that come out from the edges of your frame, and guide the viewer into your story. Picture a road stretching out before you, long roots of a tree guiding you towards the main trunk, or even outstretched arms of a loved one asking for a hug!"

"Leading lines are a powerful tool to guide the viewer's eye into the frame, creating depth and perspective while drawing attention to your main subject. Leading lines don't have to be straight; they can come in from the corners (ideally) or any edge of your frame. You could have one leading line, or many in a single frame."

Around Town

 Without a doubt one of my favorites genres of photography aside from macro, is street photography. I like walking around and just clicking.

Most street photographers suggest one find a spot, position oneself for the foot traffic and click when a worthy image transpires.

I rarely follow that suggestion.

Instead most often I follow the hip photography style or just walk around and cick.

I find candid shots to be much more appealing than portrait shots because to me portrait is too posed.

Amazing Clicks!!

No! No! 

This has nothing to do with my ability to click.

This has to do with............

..........looking out the window and suddenly seeing  a beauty tramps in your yard!

Let me clarify the word "your yard".

My yard, a small yard, butts up to the farmer's "yard" (in this case his plot of land to plant either corn or beans, depending on the year) which this year is planted with beans.

Out the window I look  and what do I see......

A beautiful deer stomping, walking, skipping across the bean field.

Hence, a run to grab the camera is mandated!!

Followed by going outside and getting as close to the beauty as I possibly could.....

.....and clicking as fast as I could.

While clicking, I got as close as I could without trying to scare him/her off.

Then she/he saw me.....

She/ he kept watch of me for a while and then decided  I was not to be trusted, therefor retracted her/his steps.

Of course.....I followed with the clicking.

He/she stopped again to see if I was following. 

Guess what??

I was....

So he/she continued prancing across the bean field....

And of course I followed...clicking all the way.

One last stop to check.....

"Is the crazed one still following?"

"Dang! 

"She is".

"Guess I will move along".

One last check.....

(I personally can hear every obsenity that is going on in his/her head)

And off he/she went into the  neighborhood greenery.
