UIC School of Architecture and Design

Another one of  Walter Netsch's designs on the campus of University of Illinois in Chicago, is the building that houses the School of Architecture and Design. A building which during my recent visit to Chicago had its doors open and one that I took the liberty of entering and capturing a few photos.

Not sure what this sculpture was all about and why it was sitting, somewhat hidden in a corner. But it obviously needed its photo taken.

Looking down through a huge window, I believe I caught sight of the lab.

On the second floor of the building there were several huge rooms with doors wide open. Within the rooms it looked like students' work was being put on display.

Eventhough Spring semester was over, hanging on the walls, the courses being offered was still on display.

Right next to the above steps, were these colorful numbers. Not sure the purpose. Maybe a way to remind the visitors that there are five stories to this building?
I didn't verify 😉

Next stop is another view of the campus.

  1. Really like these. A nice insight to the place and atmosphere. You should trespass more often.😉 I love the Food sign on the floor. It just conjures up hordes of zombie students feeling their way to the canteen.

    1. The only problem I saw with that sign was that the "bar" was pointing to the other direction. And we know there is no such thing as a bar in a Uni campus.😂😂
