One normally sees "flat-lay" genre of photography used in food photography.
"Flat-Lay photography has simple rules - take a shot of items or objects laid out on a flat surface from immediately above. Basically, a bird's-eye view of a set of objects that make up a cohesive whole."
As per usual, I made several attempts at completing this week's challenge, including going for the extra credit, which required a "self-portrait".
Most excellent! Love the self portrait - so crisp and sharp. I also love the book and glasses because of the light and shadows. Tough choice!
ReplyDeleteThanks John. That light and shadows all came from that tiny little lamp. I saw it somewhere and decided I must have it. It's exactly the shape of the old desk lamps except the size of my index finger and it shines, shines, shines ☺ I am also a very slow learner, I just realized one can click on the photo and get the full scale view. Maybe due to my mental capacity, I will be "forever young".😁
DeleteSome really good compositions here. I like the simplicity of the hot drink with steam contrasted with all the bangles. Love the lighting on the book and the explosion in the kitchen.😊
ReplyDeleteInteresting enough (to me) when the challenge started and I clicked here and there, I thought oh I like this style of photography. Then the "challenge album" came out with everyone's post and sadly I did not find one inspiring photo ( tend ot look at the submited photos and find my next inspiration) and realized that while it is cool it's not a very versatile type of a click.
DeleteI totally agree - that's why I didn't post. They're posting to keep a streak alive. I'm at the point where I look at the challenge and do with it as I will, for my self, and post if I feel like it. I'm so over the "Instagram" type of photos and copycats. I just like what I think is my kind of "art".
